Agra

The golden age of the city began with the Mughals. It was known then as Akbarabad and remained the capital of the Mughal Empire under the Badshahs Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan. Akbar made it the eponymous seat of one of his original twelve subahs (imperial top-level provinces), bordering (Old) Delhi, Awadh (Oudh), Allahabad, Malwa and Ajmer subahs. Shah Jahan later shifted his capital to Shahjahanabad in the year 1648.

Taj Mahal
An immense mausoleum of white marble, built in Agra between 1631 and 1648 by order of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Taj Mahal is the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage. It is also one of the seven wonders of the world. People from different parts of this world visit this amazing monument .Taj Mahal is also designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Fatehpur Sikri
Built during the second half of the 16th century by the Emperor Akbar, Fatehpur Sikri (the City of Victory) was the capital of the Mughal Empire for only some 10 years. The complex of monuments and temples, all in a uniform architectural style, includes one of the largest mosques in India, the Jama Masjid. The name Fatehpur Sikri means the city of victory.

Agra Fort
Agra Fort is a historical fort in the city of Agra in India. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. The Agra fort is a UNESCO World Heritage site.[1] It is about 2.5 km northwest of its more famous sister monument, the Taj Mahal. The fort can be more accurately described as a walled city. Diwan-i-aam and Diwani-i-khaas, where the proceedings of Mughal empire took place are a special attraction of Agra Fort. Those who visit Taj Mahal also visit this place.

Akbar’s Tomb
The tomb is built on an area covering 119 acres during early 17th century. This is the mausoleum that Akbar chose for himself but could not finish it during his time. The monument has Mughal elements like red sandstone and marble with inlay works and geometric patterns. It is a historical landmark. It is famous for its complex and subtle designs.
